Simple Cilantro Ranch Dressing

Cilantro Ranch Dressing

We are creeping into sauce season, people! The warm months are time for BBQ sauces, marinades, dressings for summer salads, and just all around flavor-packed creamy goodness. I’ve always been a sauce girl. I had pizza the other day without Sriracha and it was so confusing. Anyway, as we head into the summer months I wanted to bring you the first of many sauces, toppings, and beyond. This Friday I will be posting Baja Bowls that include a generous topping of this Cilantro Ranch Dressing.

To be honest, I’ve never been a big fan of ranch dressing. I’ve always preferred blue cheese to its counterpart. Particularly the ranch that comes in plastic and has been stored at room temperature for Morgan Freeman knows how long. But, that fresh stuff? That creamy, garlic-y, goodness-y stuff. I flip.

Cilantro Ranch Dressing is the best sauce for any kind of Tex-Mex food, hands down. I’ve even marinated it on chicken breast and cooked it long and low for the perfect weeknight dinner. I’ve put it on plenty of salads, used it as a dip for veggies, and last but not least, swirled it atop a Mexican pizza.

The best part about this sauce is it’s done in only five minutes! All it takes is a knife cut through some cilantro, equal parts mayo and buttermilk (I never said this sauce is light), and equal parts onion and garlic powder with a sprinkle of salt. Run it through the food processor or Vitamix® and voilà, you have yourself some seriously good sauce.
