Summer Bucket List 2022

Summer Bucket List 2022

Without going into too much detail, these past few months have been a lot. And it’s been overwhelm on top of overwhelm and that doesn’t make the most appetizing sandwich. Not as far as creativity goes. Life has felt like hard work. Hard work has felt like my job. So, this summer feels a little different than most.

It doesn’t mean I won’t make a Summer Bucket List about it.

It’s pretty self-explanatory – make a list of all the things you want to squeeze out of the summer. Copyright my friend, Joy the Baker. Who knows how to squeeze out all of life, and make lemonade with it too.

I’ve been taking my lunch outside next to my garden. The sun sits high, and my umbrella covers every part of me, my food, and my notebook. It’s the moment in the day I get to breath, rest, and write in my journal. Today instead, I wrote out my summer bucket list. It’s as boring as ever. But a boring summer sounds like just the ticket.

  1. Spend time in the garden

It’s what I made it for anyway. To tend, prune, water, feed, and harvest. But most importantly, to sit in.

  • Go to the movies

I have missed the movies so much these last few years so Daniel and I got the Regal movie pass. When we saw Top Gun: Maverick and loved it, we went again with friends. I have a feeling we’ll be watching it again because … Rooster.

  • Golf with friends

If you remember last summer’s bucket list I was all about picking golf back up after years of shelving it. It was so much fun. It’s exceedingly more fun when you have friends to do it with you. I need golf friends or friends that I’ve bullied into golfing with me. No one said loving a sport that’s overwhelmingly male was going to be easy.

  • Start canning

I’ve only canned once in my life but I’m not sure you can count me watching my mom do it as a successful run. I’ve purchased all the things and they should arrive at my doorstep Thursday. My plan is to pickle jalapenos and carrots, a very large batch of peach butter that I think I’ll employ my sisters for help with, verde sauce, marinara sauce, and salsa.

  • Bake more croissants & pies*

*Crossed out of last year’s list and moved to 2022* Last summer I thought I would have countertops. But things got pushed, and then pushed again, and then it was the end of summer. This year, with a fully finished kitchen, I’m fitting to mess it up with pastry.

       6. Execute a summer reading list

This is what I have so far: The Summer I Got Pretty, This Summer, and The Maidens. Not an extensive list but as forementioned, it’s a busy summer.

  • Garage Sales, Estate Sales, and thrifting.

There are still things needed to complete the home and there’s no better place

to find unique little treasures that no one else has.

There ya have it, my easy and simple summer bucket list. Maybe yours will be extensive, it might include a little vacation or a big one. Whatever it looks like, be sure to tag my friend Joy, she loves to see it.

  1. Trying your recipe for Apple cider cinnamon rolls. It appears the amount of sugar to go in first liquid mixture is missing. Later, I see the sugar for filling. How much goes in the mix for dough? Thanks
