Is it a writer’s block? Is that really a thing? Either way, I’ve self-diagnosed myself with it. That, and a myriad of other things because that’s just the times we’re living in. I haven’t felt like writing. I haven’t felt like doing much of anything except the work that is before me. Keeping up with client’s needs, cleaning out my inbox every other day, and come to think of it, I should definitely restart my computer.

We are allowing ourselves grace right now. At least, that’s the rumblings I’ve heard on the streets. Grace that comes in the moments when we really should do the dishes but all we can do is sit on the couch for another hour. Grace that covers a multitude of frozen lasagna dinners and Eggo breakfasts. I actually forgot just how delicious those are.

            So, let’s catch up.

We adopted a little kitten. Named him Bruce Wayne Yeezy Collection Concha Flavortown Flores. But, you can call him Bruce. I call him Bubbie and Daniel calls him Bobo or  The Bruiser. Truly a man of many names. He’s a Lynx Point Apple Head Siamese with bright blue eyes and is absolutely perfect. I’m already embarrassing him.

He is so soft, has the most scrumptious tummy and I press my nose against his fluffy white fur several times daily to take a deep breath in… release the serotonin. He sleeps with his nose to my mouth, cries when he can’t see us, is a master of cat kisses, perfectly potty trained, and comes alive at night. His favorite toy is a Batman chew toy his grandma gave him, naturally. And his favorite way to sleep is stretched out to twice his size on his back.

Lately, I’ve been eating a lot of salads. Salads in kits, salads in bags, salads I made up from last week’s vegetables. I’ve been stuffing them on top of barbeque pulled pork, inside wraps, and topped on bratwursts. Have your eating habits changed too? It’s really weird. A month ago I had a massive hankering for a diet coke. It’s all I wanted. Now, I forget I even have them in the fridge.

I’m not proud of this one but, last week I actually HAD to have box mix funfetti cupcakes with the tub of frosting with those little chewy, starchy dots inside. It actually made me really think long and hard about what those little guys are made of and if I could replicate it. In the off chance this craving will hit again, I have a box and tub at the ready.

The St. Johns Farmers Market opened again this weekend. No tomatoes, jalapenos, shallots. Just 3 cartons of average strawberries, a pretty bouquet of flowers and a baguette that we’ve been chewing on with soft butter since it’s arrival. I made the strawberries into Strawberry Lemonade and Strawberry Milk and the flowers are sitting pretty on my dining room table.

Remember how I was going to use this year to get super organized? Well, I’m still trying to do that. It’s just a little more in shipping and longer to wait to see if it’s actually going to work. But I guess the process is the same: a little bit here a little bit there.

I’m also ordering oodles from all my favorite products. Lots of candles, face masks, bath bombs, room sprays (kitten food is stinky), body sugar scrubs. I even made this bath trey caddy from The Unexpected Type DIY. These are the littlest things that make the days and nights at home something special.

Anyway, what are you up to? What are you making, binging, cleaning, buying? I’m an ear ready to listen.
